This week in our Earth Listening Circle we will be looking at making friends with extreme weather conditions. Here in England we have been experiencing extreme heat, Germany has been experiencing extreme rain and floods, Canada extreme forest fires.
Having a discussion with Sasha I suddenly realised how much we are affected by the way we think about things, causing our experience of them to be much worse than they possibly need to be. My intense dislike and fear of heat came from two experiences of living in hot countries and already suffering from culture shock and an inability to cope with my circumstances. Unfortunately l went on to label everything that was happening to me at that time, including the heat as bad. Consequently in all later experiences heat got labelled as scary and my resistance to it led to further difficult memories.
It occurred to Sasha to suggest we do some Earth Listening and discover how the Earth copes with extreme weather conditions. What l then experienced was to open to the idea of making friends with these conditions and even welcoming them, as a way of making living with them less stressful, in good DA resilience fashion!
You are very welcome to join us in this enriching exploration of our connection to the Earth.
We'll send you the Zoom link the day of the event.
This circle will run weekly on Fridays. Here is the time in your zone https://everytimezone.com/s/08a05361
