This week in the Earth Listening Circle, we will take a look at Disappointment.

Disappointments can be difficult to accept. It can be hard to realize that we have had "wrong" expectations of someone, or that we have disappointed someone that we care about. One solution would be to have no expectations, and be firm that no one should have them of us. That way you could attempt to avoid this painful experience, but would this lead to a more satisfying life?

So, what do we do when we experience disappointment? Unresolved it can lead to frustration, bitterness and resentment. Could it be, though, that we could treat disappointment as a door to something else? The Buddhist teacher, Chogyam Trungpa has written about disappointment that, “If we can open, then we suddenly begin to see that our expectations are irrelevant compared with the reality of the situations we are facing.” What does the Earth have to say about disappointment? Perhaps she can offer us some wisdom to handle our own experiences.

Sasha and Michaela Conzelman will lead the Earth Listening Circle this week. You are very welcome to join us in this enriching exploration of our connection to the Earth.

We'll send you the Zoom link the day of the event.

This event happens every week on Friday. Check the time in your zone here https://everytimezone.com/s/e1e0e319
