For Remembrance Day of Lost Species on 30th November, we invite you to send your personal expressions of love and connection. Love for species that have gone or are going extinct, for species that have disappeared from your life or your patch, for natural phenomena that have vanished from your experience (star-bright night skies, anyone?), or for natural habitats that have been diminished or destroyed. Your contribution can be in the form of a story, essay or poem, a song or dance or piece of music, a video or play, or an art-work. In short, anything.

On 30th November, at 6pm UTC (https://everytimezone.com/s/ccacce96), we will be holding a 2-hour Zoom meeting during which you will have an opportunity to share your contribution with others, by reading it out (or having it read out), or sending a link for viewing, or by doing your act live. Everybody is welcome to this event whether as active contributor or listener. The event will be recorded and if we receive enough contributions and people are willing to share these we may produce a digital anthology or share works on the Deep Adaptation Forum blog.

We hope your stories of relationship will help us all comprehend and face the emotional truth of our loss and our collective responsibility for that loss; grieve for, and praise, the species and habitats and natural phenomena that have been lost or are doomed; and raise awareness of accelerating loss of nature and help reduce harm to the nature that remains. If you have any questions, please contact Jessica Groenendijk (jessica.groenendijk@gmail.com), Kaat van der Straeten (kaatvds@gmail.com) or Anja Byg (anja.byg@gmail.com). The zoom link will be send to participants on the day of the event.
