• Jul 3, 2020 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm
  • Location: online
  • Latest Activity: on Friday

Every Friday, explore the pure, joyful, direct experience of mysticism rooted in practice, song, body prayer and mantra.

These are the practices which have brought comfort, grounding and even bliss over the millennia to humans just like us, aware of our limited physical nature and our fragility, but also aware of our infinite nature, and the awe-inspiring, loving vastness of all-that-is, in which we live and move and have our being. I encourage you to join this journey, the path of the heart, of spiritual freedom, leading to more vibrant life and awakening, and dedicated to the alleviation of suffering. Seek out opportunities to explore and encounter the bliss and ecstasy of deep connection and mystical experience.

Every Friday Jilani will be online, sharing chants, body prayers and breath practices from different traditions.

2.30PM London, 6.30am San Francisco, 9.30pm Singapore, 11.30pm Melbourne. Can’t find your location?  Check your local start time here: https://everytimezone.com/s/6944094f

  • This week we will investigate the relationship between the spiritual and the physical, exploring the sacredness of every body, and bringing cosmic awareness into the physical form of our bodies.

'Take a moment to breathe with the word adam (AH-DAHM) [the first human being, universal collective humanity]. Inhale feeling the sound "ah" as a breath from the Source of All Life. Exhale feeling the sound "dahm" resonating in your heart, reminding you that your heart beats with the rhythm that began the cosmos.... Look through the eyes of your heart at your life as it is today. How full or complete does it feel? What would be needed to feel more complete? Can you catch a feeling of your divine image before you were born?' (from The Genesis Meditations, by Neil Douglas-Klotz)

Join me today if you can!

Why do modern humans oppress and destroy life on Earth? And what to do about it?

That modern humans have been oppressing and destroying life on Earth is the most obvious and salient observational fact of our time. I am interested in the deepest reasons for that, beneath the injuries from colonialism, capitalism, patriarchy, anthropocentrism and such like. The core ‘why’ that is found within the collective psyche of modern humans,…… Continue

The Collapse of Ideology and the End of Escape

An essay on the deeper causes and implications of climate-driven societal breakdown, by Professor Jem Bendell. (Long Read – 10,000 words) Introduction If you have begun to anticipate the climate-driven collapse of societies, what can you wish for? I have written elsewhere about the problems of being attached to hope, if that means we falsely… Continue reading … Continue
